History Of Live Music

This History of Live Music Section will document the Importance of the L.A. Music Venues that launched many Young and Hopeful Future Stars.
The Time Period is from the 1960s forward.
These LA Area Clubs became Springboards during the 1970s and 1980s. Some are still active today.
Below are just a few of the names that made young music lovers horde their "lunch money" in anticipation of the coming weekend's list of Live Shows:

The Roxy / Trancas / The Whiskey a GoGo / Troubadour / Palomino / Madame Wongs

These Early Playbills allow our readers access to the Historic Timeline that helped launch the careers of names such as
Early members of the Eagles plus names like Bonnie Raitt to Bonnie Bramlet of Delaney and Bonnie fame.
I found it interesting that Kenny Lee Lewis of The Steve Miller Band played Trancas often in his early "Lunch Money" band!
Was the name prescience? Who knew what Doors the early Psychedelic Experience threw open?

You can follow this Section's Exciting Timeline of Musical History as it develops.
Check back often as we dig in and research to bring you news from the performers who played or hung out at these exciting venues. (See just a few below)
This info is essential to document as many of the names have moved on to our
"Passing of the Guard Tribute" section.
Note From Don:
"I knew A number of these talented performers. Some have passed during the research and construction of this website. This fact has made this project all the more personal and important to me".
